Rani, a bright and ambitious young woman, topped her 12th-grade exams and dreams of becoming a doctor—specifically at Ahmedabad Medical College. Her aspirations clash with her conservative family, especially her father, who believes a girl’s future lies in marriage, not a career.
Her life takes a dramatic turn when she marries Digvijay, also called DJ, a talented heart surgeon known for his temper. Though skilled in his profession, his volatile personality has cost him his previous relationship with his girlfriend Anisha.
Their personalities contrast strikingly—Rani is warm, optimistic, and driven, while Digvijay is emotionally closed-off and struggling with anger and guilt. Despite the tension, they slowly develop mutual respect and affection.
When Rani becomes pregnant, the series explores her determination to both embrace motherhood and pursue her medical career—refusing to choose one over the other, even under the pressure of her husband and societal expectations.
Early plotlines also involve Rani’s supportive friendships—particularly with her cheeky friend Debu—and amusing family dynamics involving Digvijay and his brother Ishaan.
But the emotional drama intensifies when Anisha re-enters the picture, having secured a prestigious hospital role. Her presence unearths past wounds when she accuses Digvijay of infidelity during Rani’s pregnancy. Though he initially denies any wrongdoing, he later learns (through Anisha herself) that he may have had a lapse in control—leaving him wracked with guilt.
Amidst this, Rani investigates Anisha’s unethical actions—particularly organ trafficking at the hospital—and eventually involves the police to expose her. Simultaneously, Digvijay publicly rejects divorce and tearfully reaffirms his love for Rani.
The tension hits a peak when Anisha kidnaps Rani and Digvijay’s daughter, Dhwani. In a desperate rescue attempt, the couple disguises themselves as an elderly pair to sneak into her hideout and save Dhwani.
Around Dhwani’s upcoming birthday, a temporary peaceful moment seems to arrive. Digvijay hopes to celebrate it joyfully and reconnect with Rani, though Anisha’s looming influence continues to threaten the family’s fragile peace.
